ConsumerNews.ai is an experiment that's just getting started. We grew out of The Outraged Consumer site on Substack and have moved out on our own to get a little more breathing room. ConsumerNews.ai is based on the premise that everyone talks about what AI will do to the news. We're giving it a chance to show what it can do.

Most newsrooms downplay – or outright deny – using AI in assembling their news report. But competitive pressures and economic realities are making it harder to maintain that fiction. Every business is constantly looking for new efficiencies and news is no exception.

Stories on this site are researched by AI, written and edited jointly with experienced human journalists who are responsible for the final product. Does it work? Will it make newsrooms more efficient and help them stay in business? Will readers notice or care? We don't know but we're working to find out, not just talking about it.
